Nepali investor eyes Serbian banking, tourism sectors
Nepal-based diversified conglomerate CG Corp Global is considering an investment in a major Serbian banking group and in the country's tourism sector, the president of the company, Binod Chaudhary, said.
"We are looking at a banking opportunity in Serbia with a major group here, as our group is heavily involved in financial services," Chaudhary said in a video file posted on the website of Serbian news agency Tanjug on Saturday.
Moreover, CG Corp Global is considering an investment in a world-class wellness complex in Serbia, Chaudhary said.
"I personally believe that Serbia would be the right destination. Not too far from Europe, still affordable, as there are such complexes in Austria, Germany and Switzerland, but they are far too expensive."
CG Corp Global opened in October a factory for noodles in Ruma, in northern Serbia. The factory makes products under the Wai Wai brand which are sold on the Serbian market and in Europe.
The Nepal-based group is operating hotels and resorts and is active in tourism, real estate, food and beverages industry, financial services and cement production. The group has about 10,000 employees in 30 countries worldwide, according to data from its corporate website.
